On September 25th, 2012, outgoing DTOC President Eddy Chaney presented a $500 donation to Leslie Payne of Care Lodge Shelter. The funds will be used to help offset the cost of school uniforms for children who come to the shelter with their mothers to escape domestic abuse.

Care Lodge Domestic Violence Shelter, Inc. offers a variety of comprehensive programs and services to victims of domestic violence in East Mississippi. We provide services for approximately 1,000 shelter and non-shelter clients each year; all services to victims of domestic violence and their children are provided completely free of charge.

Care Lodge is the only accredited shelter providing comprehensive services to victims of domestic abuse in East Mississippi.

The Downtown Optimist Club of Meridian has been a long time supporter of the children of Care Lodge and this is just one more opportunity for our club to support the difficult work performed by Care Lodge.
