DTOC Donates To MLT CenterStage Youth Program – 2018

On August 28th, 2018, The Downtown Optimist Club of Meridian President Lee Thaggard presented MLT Director Ellie Massey a check for $1,000 in support of Meridian Little Theatre’s CenterStage Youth Programs. Massey came to the club’s meeting to provide the DTOC with an inside glimpse of the amazing benefits children derive from participation in the Arts. Her passion for the arts and in particular the CenterStage youth Program is exciting and it is clear that amazing things are happening at Meridian Little Theatre especially when it comes to the benefits children derive from participation in the Arts.

Meridian Little Theatre’s CenterStage Youth Programs are geared toward students who have completed first through sixth grades, in the summer the CenterStage Workshop offers students ideas and skills to use in developing their dramatic abilities. Young participants experience all aspects of live theatre: acting, singing, dancing and staging. Past experience is not required.
