DTOC Increases Support For The Carter Foundation – 2020

James Carter, Founder of The Carter Foundation in Meridian, MS was the speaker on Tuesday, January 28, 2020 and provided members with an overview of latest efforts of his foundation in attempting to reach the youth of our community and to steer their energies toward growing into productive members of our community. The Downtown Optimist Club has been donating $500 each year to the organization for the past five years and this year, the membership voted to increase that donation from $500 per year to $750 per year.

The Carter Foundation is making a difference in the lives of Meridian children and showing them how to find the best opportunities for their future. The DTOC believes in supporting organizations like The Carter Foundation that have continued to find new ways to reach kids and encourage them to be everything they are capable of becoming.
