DTOC Supports Children’s Museum While Social Distancing!

On Tuesday, June 8th, 2020, Downtown Optimist Club of Meridian President Ken Kercheval welcomed Liz Wilson, Director of the Mississippi Children’s Museum – Meridian, to give club members an overview of the progress being made on the building of the Meridian Children’s Museum. Liz updated members on the construction progress which has been continuing even in the face of Covid-19 as well as copies of The 2020 Special edition MCM Playbook newsletter that was sent to thousands children across the State with loads of answers to questions kids might have about the pandemic.

At the end of her presentation, President Kercheval presented Liz with a donation of $1,000. The DTOC has pledged to give $1,000 each year for up to 10 years making their pledged donation amount $10,000. This donation makes the DTOC’s third donation and we continue to watch in excitement as the opening date draws nearer!
