DTOC Recognizes Mark Scarborough For 30 Years Of Service

On September 30th, 2014, The Downtown Optimist Club of Meridian recognized DTOC Member and Former President (twice!) Mark Scarborough for his 30 years of continuous service to the club.

In lieu of a plaque or certificate, Mark asked that the club make a donation to a local organization called Parents Circle which is a support group for families of disabled children and provides activities for the special needs kids.

This group provides a variety of activities throughout the year for special needs children including sporting events and even a high school prom/dance. The DTOC has donated to this organization in the past and this year has included them in our budget support for the coming year.

It is not surprising that after thirty years of self-less work as part of the DTOC, Mark Scarborough would choose to receive a method of recognition that would promote and support the work of others.
