DTOC Donates To Little Men
Little Men is a Christian Mentoring program for boys that is staff and supported by various organizations across the Greater Meridian Area. The program is open to boys between 3rd and 5th grade without regard to race or ethnic background with preference given to boys from single-parent homes. The program was started because there are too many boys growing up without the life-skills required to be real men and our community is suffering because of it. The goals of the program are met by encouraging men to invest time in the participating boys on a weekly basis in the following activities: Schoolwork, Bible Study, Play, Work and Sharing Meals.
Philip Price came and spoke to the DTOC about some of the success they have had in their first full year of operations. He also encouraged Christian men to consider mentoring Little Men. Mentors must be over eighteen years old, must pass a background check, must complete the Boy Scouts Youth Protection training program and must commit to a minimum of a full school quarter’s participation.
President Brian Koroknay presented Philip Price with a donation from the DTOC to help fund their efforts.
