DTOC Bill Herndon MCC Scholarship Award 2015

Meridian Community College Foundation and The Downtown Optimist Club of Meridian are proud to announce that Jessica Smith has been selected to receive the Downtown Optimist Club/Bill Herndon Memorial Scholarship at Meridian Community College.  The $1,000 scholarship award is funded through the MCC Foundation by the Downtown Optimist Club and memorializes one of the club’s outstanding members.

Jessica attended Southeast Lauderdale High School and graduated from the Meridian Community College GED Program in 2015.  She is taking prerequisite classes for entrance into the Associate Degree Nursing Program at MCC.  Jessica works at Mulligans in Meridian.  Her goal is to complete the ADN program and enter the workforce as a registered nurse.  Jessica is determined to provide a better life for her and her children.
