DTOC’s 2018 Jr. Golf Program: Golf + Kids = FUN!

Volunteers from the Downtown Optimist Club of Meridian hosted area golfers age 7-18 with skill sets ranging from beginner to advanced for four Jr. Golf Clinics.

These events were held at Lakeview Municipal Golf Club (June 19th) and Briarwood Golf Club (June 21st, 26th and 28th).  The clinics consisted of group and private lessons from both members of the DTOC as well as PGA Teaching Professional, Steve Ferguson.

Loaner golf clubs were available for those who needed to borrow a set and the golfers were able to play in a scramble format until the sessions concluded each day at 11.  Golfers were provided with snacks, opportunities to learn the wonderful game of golf and make new friends!

The DTOC with the support of Briarwood Golf Club and Lakeview Golf Club offer this program each year free of charge. Participants and volunteers are encouraged to contact us to be a part of next year’s events! Check out the photos from this year!
