DTOC Donation To Care Lodge – 2019

On January 22th, 2019, DTOC President Lee Thaggard presented a $1,000 donation to Sara Smith of Care Lodge Shelter. The Downtown Optimist Club of Meridian has been an annual supporter of the children of Care Lodge for a very long time and is the club’s way of supporting the difficult but necessary work of assisting families dealing with the results of domestic violence.

Care Lodge Domestic Violence Shelter, Inc. offers a variety of comprehensive programs and services to victims of domestic violence in East Mississippi. They provide services for approximately 1,000 shelter and non-shelter clients each year; all services to victims of domestic violence and their children are provided completely free of charge.

Care Lodge is the only certified domestic violence shelter providing services for the following counties: Clarke, Kemper, Lauderdale, Leake, Neshoba, Noxubee, Scott and Winston.
